Ecotourism in Arequipa


Arequipa is peru ´s second largest city and was found in 1540 . In it ´s  arquitecture you can find  the cathedrals made of the stone sillar . The sillar is a white stone that is why Arequipa is called the (La Ciudad blanca).

Mountain Climbing : Volcano Misti


Arequipa is surrounded by three volcanoes ; El Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Pichu. The melt water from the snow-capped peaks of these volcanoes form the headwaters of the mighty Amazon River, thousands of kilometers away.
The Misti is currently inactive, but had strong eruptions between the years 1438 and 1471.Going by the route Cabrerias, National Reserve of Aguada Blanca between the Misti and Chachani volcanoes you will see wild vicuñas. Arive to the north base of The Misti at 3,800 meters and you will beging trekking up to the 4,800 meters until arriving at the camp base called "Mont Blanc".
The next day you will trek for about 3 hour. From the summit you will view the enormous crater and a second one smaller characterized for emanation of some gases in the botton, land with coloration of sulfurates, you can walk until the point called the cross of the Misti at 5,825 meters. From there you will have an impressive view of the city of Arequipa, and the snowy Chachani, Pichu Pichu, Coropuna and Ampato mountains.
